Kids

My son is a wonderful kid, he truly is. Recently however, the things that make him wonderful have begun to undergo some drastic changes. He is moody as anything, as likely to snap at you and storm off to his room in a temper tantrum as he is to smile at you. He won't talk on the phone to his Uncle Gordon anymore, either.

Gordon is not a biological relation, rather a family friend that my husband and I worked with 10 years ago. We are still best friends. In fact, Gordon was supposed to be one of my birthing partners, but he was in the hospital recovering from major abdominal surgery when it was discovered that I had pre-eclampsia and my labor was induced.

The point here is that Gordon has known my son since the day he was conceived and now my son will not talk to him, or anyone else really. He's acting like a teenager, but he's only 8 years old! I often wonder if his attitude problem has anything to do with his physical problems. Next week I have to take him in to have him checked out for Dyslexia and to try to get him back in his occupational therapy. I'm glad we homeschool him, otherwise there would be no way that we could keep up with all this stuff that he has going on.

I'm feeling pensive again tonight, so I think I am going to stop for now before I turn this into a pity party. But before I go, I need to share some good news! I had an article published on Associated Content and they even paid me for it! This is exciting stuff for me. I used to write a lot and had a few things published, but that was several years ago. To actually be back into the paid writing arena is pretty exciting for me.

Ok, that's all. I'm going for now.

I did go, but I came back. That's my son. Isn't he cute?
